Co-Curricular Activities
School being the second home for a student, the house system in any school, plays a pivotal role in making the students explore & showcase their talents. While fulfilling their different duties they develop a deep sense of responsibility, leadership, team spirit and many other virtues which build a strong foundation for their future.
We have an active House – System and all the students are extremely proud to belong to their respective houses. The Four Houses are namely :
1. AGNIDOOT 2. MEGHDOOT
3 SHANTIDOOT 4. VAYUDOOT
1.The entire student population is classified into size groups to create an atmosphere of healthy competition& team spirit and to make the Co – Curricular Activities more effective & fun-filled.
2. Each house has its own Flag, a ‘Warden’, a Senior House Master and a Junior House Master. They are assisted by eight Associate House Masters, a Captain and two Vice-Captains and four Prefects to organize different activities.
3. The ‘Head Boy’, ‘Head-Girl’, Cultural Secretary and the two Assistant Cultural Secretaries, Sports Secretary and two Assistant Sports Secretaries(who do not belong to any house) assist the CCA Coordinators for the smooth conduct of different activities.
4. The ‘House on Duty’ conducts the Morning Assembly for a week.
5. The morning assembly activities include, DAV Anthem, News, Thought, Pledge, Mass Prayer, ‘word’ of the day, Hindi / English / Oriya / Sanskrit Recitation, Speech, Principles of AryaSamaj, Moral Skit and many more to inculcate the value of togetherness, truthfulness, team spirit & tolerance.
6.To explore the hidden talents in the students the school has formed different clubs such as :- Science Club, Humanities Club, English Club, Hindi Club, Sanskrit Club, Maths. Club, IT Club, Art/Craft Club and Sports Club.
Apart from all these endeavours, to encourage and to appreciate the sincerity and hard work of the pupils the prestigious PRINCIPAL’S CLUB has been formed that accommodates the students as its members who score 90% & above [Std III-X] and 80% & above [ Std-XI & XII]. Educational Tours are arranged to different places of learning and awareness for the member students to inspire other students to try hard and become members of the coveted club.
7. The school has got the much awaited NCC Wing {Junior}that trains the cadets from Std- VIII onwards. This has been one of the spectacular additions to the school.
8. The school facilitated the Karate Classes for the students of Class- II onwards this year. The classes run in the afternoon in the school field to train the students self defense.
9. The school is installing Smart Boards in all classes from this session to bring the benefits of digitalization to the Teaching Learning Process.
10. We are extremely proud that our students are exposed to various creative activities which hone their talent to its maximum potential and to cultivate the same we have ‘Display Board’ competition on different topics:-
(a) June to August : The Great Indian Culture: An Interface
(b) September to November : Artificial Intelligence: Today & Tomorrow
(c) December to February : TheZigZag Journey of Indian Democracy
